Crested Caracara

Once known as Audubon's caracara, the crested caracara is a member of the falcon family (Falconidae). Primarily a carnivorous scavenger, this bird occasionally eats fruit. They will also actively prey on small mammals, young birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish and invertebrates.
